To find articles about Latin America and the Caribbean you can use the Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI)*.
HAPI provides complete bibliographic citations to the contents of scholarly journals published around the world on Latin America and the Caribbean since 1970. Coverage includes everything from political, economic, and social issues to the arts and humanities.
HAPI currently indexes over 400 journals and includes the contents of over 700 journals dating back to the start in the 1970s. The list of journals indexed can be found on http://hapi.ucla.edu/journal/indexed_list.
About 80% of the currently indexed titles include links to full text sources. In the results page you will find icons linking you to the article. You can also find the UvA-linker for each result: if there is access to the full text article, it provides a direct link; if there is no digital access, you can search in a library catalogue, so as to determine if the journal is available at the UvA library or any other library in the Netherlands (more information on UvA-linker ).
You can search HAPI in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. You can use the Advanced Search option to limit your results. The options include language, publication year, full text, and peer-reviewed journals.
* Note that HAPI is only accessible in UvA buildings or with UvAnetID.
